Anderson Hysterectomy Clamps are used during a hysterectomy to clamp off a very tough ligament that must be severed from both sides of the uterus. The physician will clamp off the ligament at the uterus side and place the second clamp on the ligament at the abdomen wall side. He will then take a pair of very heavy scissors and cut the tough ligament in between the two clamps. The scissors must be heavy because the ligament is so tough the scissors could easily break.
