Operating Scissors (also known as Surgical Scissors) are versatile surgical instruments. These scissors are most often used by surgeons to precisely cut tissue during an operation. Available in three tip configurations (sharp/sharp, blunt/blunt, or sharp/blunt), varying curvatures, and multiple lengths, these scissors are used for general, multipurpose cutting and dissecting. Sharp Operating Scissors cut tougher tissue and are frequently used for dissecting. Blunt Operating Scissors are more often used for cutting materials such as sutures, tubing, or gauze. There are straight tips for superficial dissection and cutting, straight slender tips for more narrow fields, curved tips for deeper dissections, and curved slender tips for deeper, narrow fields. These surgical scissors are reusable after proper sterilization.
